Hatta is a mountain town and exclave of Dubai in the Hajar Mountains, about 134 km east of the city, with a population of around 13,000 (2018).
It has long been a summer retreat for Dubai families, and its economy now rests largely on tourism around Hatta Dam, kayaking, mountain biking and heritage sites.
Hatta borders Oman to the east and south, the Ajman exclave of Masfout to the west and Ras Al Khaimah to the north.
